The West Marin Community Thrift Store, a local institution since 1987, offers low-cost clothing and household items and a mechanism for recycling usable, quality merchandise. The store also provides employment with benefits to local residents. Follow us on Instagram for regular updates.
|100% of the profits are for local use — to residents with emergency needs, scholarships for child care, and other support of WMCS programs. The Store has provided over $700,000 to the community in individual and non-profit grants since its inception.|
Every day the Thrift Store receives boxes of fantastic merchandise, and we get it out fast! From clothing and jewelry to kitchenware and sporting equipment, you never know what kind of treasure you will unearth. Whether you need clothes for school, that perfect antique platter or an emergency gift for Aunt Matilda, you’re likely to find your prize here.
How to contribute
Your donations of quality goods — gratefully accepted during store hours — are what keeps us going. We need clothing, shoes, linens, curtains, kitchenware, jewelry, small furniture, toys, children’s books, cookbooks, and decorative items.
We DO NOT accept computers, large appliances and furniture, mattresses, or TVs. Please make sure all items are clean, undamaged (no stains or tears), and in good usable condition.
And if you have some time to volunteer at this bustling community hub, we are often in need of cashiers. It’s a great way to meet new people while performing an important community service.
The WMCS Thrift Store is looking for shop volunteers to cashier, service customers, keeping the shop merchandised and organized, and ensuring the shop adheres to COVID protocols. It a fun, interactive role, and you get to work with an amazing team.
